KPD investigating shooting outside of afterhours club on N. Broadway

UPDATE (10:30 A.M. June 15, 2026) : The victim from the shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in the 2300 block of Broadway has been identified as 26-year-old Deont’e Wilkins of Knoxville.

Wilkins remains in critical condition. At this time, no suspects have been arrested or charged in the shooting. KPD detectives are continuing to pursue strong leads.

Knoxville Police Department Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a shooting that happened early Saturday morning outside of an afterhours club on Broadway.

At just before 4 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, KPD officers responded to the VIP Lounge at 2314 N. Broadway. Officers arrived on scene and located a gunshot victim on the sidewalk near the entrance to the club. The victim, a 26-year-old man, was transported to the UT Medical Center for treatment. At last report, the victim was in critical but stable condition.

Responding officers detained and questioned multiple potential witnesses at the scene. However, the circumstances leading to and surrounding the shooting remain unclear at this time, and a suspect has not been arrested or charged.
